An Atmosphere of Caring
Voorhees Pediatric Facility (VPF) provides a safe, comfortable atmosphere when a child must leave the hospital and skilled nursing and rehabilitative care is recommended. VPF, a 119-bed pediatric facility complete with a state-of-the-art respiratory care program, has set new standards for skilled nursing and rehabilitative care. Centrally located 15 minutes outside of the metropolitan Philadelphia area, with access to prominent tri-state area hospitals, VPF has become the alternative of choice for children ranging in age from birth through 21 years from throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
Bright, vibrant hallways and rooms decorated with colorful parachutes, children's drawings, and underwater themed wallpaper; attentive nurses, therapists, and administrators hugging and helping children... all create the nurturing and home-like atmosphere that is the backdrop for VPF.
Our years of experience committed to serving children with special needs have equipped us with the unique
understanding that children are not just small adults. Children in long-term care settings have a number of distinctive care needs, such as growth and developmental issues, often complicated by their medical fragility. Additionally, acute attention and monitoring is essential to sustaining the often narrow margin of safety when considering patient size and weight relative to pulmonary management, medication, and nutrition. Appropriate education services must also be tailored to a non-traditional setting and to the specific needs of each family and child.
